Most undocumented children in foster care qualify for some form of immigration relief. To better assist these clients, CLC launched an immigration program in 2019 that serves to support our undocumented clients.
CLC’s immigration team screens clients for immigration relief, assesses whether they are in need of immigration counsel, and works with case carrying attorneys to secure appropriate dependency court orders. We collaborate with immigration legal service providers throughout California to find attorneys for our clients to handle their immigration matters. On a number of cases, CLC’s immigration attorneys also provide direct representation before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (“EOIR”) and before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”), representing CLC clients in their applications for immigration relief including:
- Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (“SIJS”)
- Asylum
- U Visas
- T Visas
- VAWA
- DACA
